Humpday Listday: I Want...

It's Wednesday and I owe you a list.

Here are 10 things I want right now:

1. a nap
2. a pair of TOMS wrap boots.
3. an iPad. I just can't help it. They look so cool. Maybe when the second gen comes out....
4. for it to be fall already! We've had a heat advisory every day this week.
5. to miraculously not have to work this Saturday. All the girls on my Mom's side of the fam are getting together and I can't go! No fair!
6. better cuticles. I bite mine and they look horrid right now.
7. a shower. I got my hair trimmed yesterday afternoon and didn't wash it this morning. My stylist loads me up with gunk every time!
8. my to-do list to take care of itself.
9. to go watch old episodes of Daria in bed.
10. my cat to curl up next to me while I watch Daria in bed.

Oh well. All my lists can't be winners.

Mustache Envy & Harry Potter

I am absolutely dying to have these for each member of our wedding party from Something's Hiding Here (at Etsy) for the wedding.

Oh the fun we could have with these in pictures. Unfortunately, they are $32 each and our budget does NOT allow for those kind of extravagances. Luckily, I am fairly crafty and have devised a way (I think) to make some that are almost as good. I'm so excited that I just had to share.

Also, Jessica and I stood in a line that stretched all the way around the movie theater last night at midnight. What would posses us to do that, you ask?

Answer: This guy....

And even though we ended up in the very front row on the very end and everything was sort of at an angle, and it was after 3am when we got back home, and the movie didn't really compare to the book at all, it was indeed a good time. I suggest you all go out and see it ASAP. No, seriously... leave your house right now.

Also, (if you didn't leave to go see Harry Potter) after a week and a half of back and forth trips, I am officially moved into Chris' apartment. That's right, we're livin' in sin for the next 3 months. We just have a few more things to get and I should be able to turn in the keys to my old place. Our place is a wreck and stuff is everywhere, but I really think that with a little TLC, it will make a nice first place for us.

Lastly I want to give you the gift of having this song stuck in your head like I've had for the last 24 hours....

Goodnight... enjoy!

3 Days?!

Has it only been three days since my last post? It seems SO much longer. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that the last three days have been spent moving. As of today, I'm about half moved. My bed is at Chris' apartment (now my apartment too, I suppose) and pretty much the rest of my stuff is still at my old place.......

**Sidenote: I'm watching Jimmy Fallon interview Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris. Seriously, the entire interview he was in character. I feel like I'm back in 1991. Really weird.
ETA: Apparently this was a rerun. Link to video.
End Sidenote.**

...It's making me feel very disconnected from the world. This is the first time I've been on the the internet for more than two or three minutes just to check my email. I also haven't really gone anywhere besides our two apartments moving stuff. Feeling so stir-crazy has resulted in a homemade peach pie made with peaches from the farmer's market and silly bets on things like whether I can pick up a golf ball with my toes and hold it there for 10 seconds. BTW, my prize was a Reese's Sonic Blast with extra Reese's and malt....tasty. I'm also through the first four Harry Potter books (I'm trying to reread them all by July 15th, when the new movie comes out.) I think the boredom and lack of human contact may also be resulting in this blog post.

In other news (read: Stuff I want).........

This squirrel shirt from BoyGirlParty is possibly the cutest thing that ever happened.

Actually, it may be tied with this print.

Off to read more Harry Potter. Goodnight.

PS... I have come to the realization that I am no good at using the touchpad on Chris' laptop. I miss my computer with the giant screen and light-up keyboard.

10 Things I Love RIGHT NOW!

Click on any of the pictures below to go to the page they come from.

1. The new freebie embroidery pattern from BadBird. Have you ever seen a cuter giant lizard?

2. Incognito wedding pictures! (Note to self: acquire fake moustaches before October...)

3. These hand-dyed lace earrings from White Owl at Etsy. Soooo pretty.

4. This "man-broidery." I'm dying to get some toile and do this now.

5. These arrow earrings. I've had these in my Etsy favorites for a loooong time. (The same shop has tiny little hammer earrings, too.)

6. Mysterious Letters. These two people sent a personal and unique letter to all 467 households in the Irish village of Cushendall, even if they knew nothing but the address, a letter was sent all the same. It makes you think about how a letter from a complete stranger could brighten someone's day.... and how much fun it might be to write a "mysterious letter."

7. HARRY POTTER! I'm trying so hard to re-read all 7 before HP & the Half Blood Prince comes out July 15th (for which I already have a date with Jessica). I'm halfway through the third one now.

8. This crazy, crazy show. It's insane and most certainly not for children, but it hooks you and you can't stop watching.
9. Covers of old songs when the covers are really, really well done.
Ryan Adams - Wonderwall
The Watson Twins - Just Like Heaven
Iron & Wine - Love Vigilantes

10. Jenny Lewis! Lydia and I have tickets to see her in Athens on Wednesday night. I can't wait!

My Christmas List

Every year, people ask me what I want for Christmas and/or my Birthday and I can never remember the things I want when they ask. So, this year I am making a list (and checkin' it twice). I'll leave my list here so that I can point people this way when they ask that inevitable question.

ETA: Look! I made a button that goes directly to this entry! Woo! ----->

In no particular order:

1. A pair of Chucks.... THIS pair of Chucks, in charcoal. I'd take black, too. Women's size 9.
EDIT: I gave these to myself shortly after Christmas. Yay.
2. The classic BBC version of The Chronicles of Narnia on DVD. I watched these (on VHS) as a kid any time I was home sick from school. These are much closer to my heart than the new Disneyfied version.
EDIT: Abbie got this for me and I was SO excited. I love the low-budget special effects.

3. Any of the new Doctor Who on DVD. I'm dying for these. Really, I am.

4. In that same vein, this shirt from ThinkGeek is pretty awesome. They also have a Dalek Voice Changer Helmet, but not even I am that geeky.

5. Any Battlestar Galactica on DVD. Apollo + Starbuck = a happy Katie.
EDIT: Got the first season from Chris for Christmas! Well, he ordered it for me, but it's been backordered for a while now.... hopefully it will come someday.

6. My geekiness knows no bounds. I already have Season 1, now I need Season 2 of Robot Chicken.
7. Finally! Some non-geek things! Any of the prints from The Black Apple would make me so fantastically happy. But here are a few I am particularly fond of:

8. My very own copy of Paula Deen's Just Desserts. I used Callie's copy many times while we were still at Marvin Ave, but now I need one of my own. Apple Butter Pumpkin Pies just don't bake themselves, you know.
EDIT: I got this from my aunt and uncle for my Birthday!

9. I would love to finally have my very own copy of one of the most important art history books ever written. Giorgio Vasari's Lives of the Artists. Really, I'm going to have to stop using the library's copy at some point.

10. Ooh! I love this pretty Peacoat from Old Navy.

11. Okay, this one's a little pricier, but I believe it's worth it. You can't put a pricetag on being found instead of lost. A Tomtom is just what I need.

12. A Chocolate Orange. I LOVE these. To me, the are Christmas. (Available at most grocery stores around the holidays.)

EDIT: Lydia gave me one of these randomly before my birthday.

13. I want want WANT this bag from American Eagle.

EDIT: Recieved this gorgeous bag from Chris for my birthday! 14. DOCTOR HORRIBLE! I want this horribly bad. Will be realeased Dec. 19.... now available for pre-order on Amazon.
EDIT: Again, I ordered this for myself, and it is awesome to the tenth power.15. Lydia found these beauties on Etsy. She said they need to be added to my collection. She is so very correct.
EDIT: From my Lydia! It was such a surprise. I love them. And Dr. Horrible.

16. Anything Elsie has ever made. Ever. Seriously, she's my craft crush right now. Loooooove her.

Check back later. I plan on adding lots more... I'm very materialistic that way.
