10 Things I Love RIGHT NOW!

Click on any of the pictures below to go to the page they come from.

1. The new freebie embroidery pattern from BadBird. Have you ever seen a cuter giant lizard?

2. Incognito wedding pictures! (Note to self: acquire fake moustaches before October...)

3. These hand-dyed lace earrings from White Owl at Etsy. Soooo pretty.

4. This "man-broidery." I'm dying to get some toile and do this now.

5. These arrow earrings. I've had these in my Etsy favorites for a loooong time. (The same shop has tiny little hammer earrings, too.)

6. Mysterious Letters. These two people sent a personal and unique letter to all 467 households in the Irish village of Cushendall, even if they knew nothing but the address, a letter was sent all the same. It makes you think about how a letter from a complete stranger could brighten someone's day.... and how much fun it might be to write a "mysterious letter."

7. HARRY POTTER! I'm trying so hard to re-read all 7 before HP & the Half Blood Prince comes out July 15th (for which I already have a date with Jessica). I'm halfway through the third one now.

8. This crazy, crazy show. It's insane and most certainly not for children, but it hooks you and you can't stop watching.
9. Covers of old songs when the covers are really, really well done.
Ryan Adams - Wonderwall
The Watson Twins - Just Like Heaven
Iron & Wine - Love Vigilantes

10. Jenny Lewis! Lydia and I have tickets to see her in Athens on Wednesday night. I can't wait!

Music and Invitations

I realize I've been posting alot of music recommendations lately, but I just love this song so much that I had to.

The band is Bon Iver. The song is "Skinny Love."

"Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here"

You can listen to the recorded version of the song on their MySpace page, or you can actually download it for free at their website, HERE. And let's be honest, who doesn't love free stuff? (and good music!)

Also, our beautiful wedding invitations came via UPS today. Here's a teeeeensy little preview:

Now I have to make and copy inserts, address, stamp, and mail them. Boy-oh-boy am I going to be a busy little bee!

Have a lovely weekend! xo

Regina and Insomnia Cake

I think it must be genetic. I mean, both of my Grandmothers do it. I couldn't sleep last night after a crazylong and crazypainful coughing fit woke me up around 2am (thanks to the almost-flu), and so I decided to bake a cake. I swear it runs in the family.

I present to you: Insomnia Cake. A chocolate angel food cake with a coffee-chocolate frosting. OM NOM NOM NOM!

It is so sinfully good that I couldn't stand to have the whole thing sitting on my counter, so I gave half of it to Chris to take to work with him tomorrow.

Also, I've been listening to Regina Spektor's new album.

And seriously? She never disappoints. Listen...

RIP MJ

There has never been and there will never be anyone quite like him.

He will be missed.

Wedding Shoes? Yes, Please!

I know this is probably the least interesting topic to blog about in the universe, but I'm just so excited I can't stand it.

I found my wedding shoes!! I just bought these beauties from this Etsy shop.

Vintage 70's snakeskin and leather. Never worn. For a very reasonable price. I'm so excited I want to squeal. In fact, I think I might have when I saw them.

Away We Go!

I want to see this movie. Right. Now.

Reasons to see this movie:
1. John Krasinski
2. Maya Rudolph
3. Allison Janney
4. The fact that they used that song in the trailer. I *heart* that song.

Lydia & Bruce got married!

So, this weekend was Lydia and Bruce's wedding. I can't believe it came so quickly! The above picture just makes me smile, and it is one of the very few that I actually took this weekend.

I'm not going to go into any great detail, but I will say that it was absolutely beautiful and they are so happy. As for my part, as Lydia's Maid of Honor, I'm not sure I've ever been so tired in my whole life. This weekend also made me realize that my poor sweet bridesmaids will be in flat shoes if it kills me.

Four months until we have to do it all again, but with the roles reversed!

Special K, Jason Schwartzman, and other randomness

I'm down to the last bowl of Special K Chocolatey Delight and there's so much delightful chocolate in the bottom of the box, that I practically have chocolate milk. Hey, I'm not complaining here. I just kinda wanted a few more flakes, ya know?

Also, supercrush on Jason Schwartzman.

Having the urge to watch all of his movies, right now.
That's all for now.

Wait, what about the "other randomness?" Let's see... oh, here you go: I totally forgot to answer a question on my accounting test yesterday. I decided to skip it and go back later, but about an hour after I got home, I realized I never went back. Sadness.

Something Finished (sorta)

In less than 12 hours, I went to Hobby Lobby, bought fabric, cut out like a million triangles, and pieced this together. I just wonder how long it's going to take me to quilt this thing.

At this point, I'm dead tired, quite greasy, and I need to take at least a few minutes to study for the accounting test that I have at noon. Also, I am in serious need of caffeine!

Something New

I know in my head I really don't need to start yet another craft project while I still have so many to finish, but my fingers just had to create something new tonight.

I'm not sure what to call the pattern... it came out of my head, but I'm sure I'm not the first to do it. It will end up as a small throw, I think. Somewhere around 50"x60", with alternating stripes of yellow polka-dot and that perfect blue-green. These two rows are all I have at the moment, with each arrow measuring approximately 9 inches square. I can't wait to get it all together!
