Hot Thrifting

I've been feeling a bit down the last few weeks. I don't quite know why. It's probably a combination of things (school, the fact that it's still 85 degrees in October, etc...).
Monday, to combat my October blues, I made an impromptu trip to Goodwill. These are things I found:

A sweet little vase/pot with leaves

This mug in the prettiest shade of blue

A set of 4 ramekins (the perfect size for giant muffins!)

A sash/belt/scarf. The pattern is killer. This will soon become a zippered pouch of some sort.

I thought these were really funny. Look carefully, they're quite racy. They will most certainly be a gift for Kristen.

And finally, my most prized thrifty find, these fabulous tangerine salt and pepper shakers. Really, I can't express how much I love these. They still had salt and pepper in them when I bought them. Ha!

All (most) of my goodies together for a group portrait.

Everything I got was a little over $13. Total. I know. What a steal. I would have paid $5 for the shakers alone (they were only $2!).

So, after thrifting for a while I was looking forward to sitting in my nice cool apartment and admiring my purchases. Unfortunately, I came home to a toasty 83 degrees in my apartment. My A/C is broken and my landlords haven't returned any of my calls... for 2 days.

Have I mentioned that I'm having a bad couple of weeks?

Ohhhhh, I didn't know you liked thrifting!! I love it! You SO have to come to FL and we can go shopping at the shops around here. I bet you'd love the twin markets called Renningers. It's in Mount Dora. You might have seen in on TV before.

I love the birdy and tree you made! Some of my friends call me "The Bird Lady" because I love birdies so much. lol Anyway, I'd love to learn to do that. It looks like fun.

Hey, thanks for the info about posting pics you left on my blog. I'll give that a shot next post.

BTW, when you decide to shop for your wedding dress see if you can find a store going out of business. Ask friends to look out for that type of thing. You might have to travel a bit, but I found mine %75 off at a Belk that was closing in SC. It would have been several thousand dollars otherwise and I could never have afforded it.

Oops...sorry to be so long winded! Huggers, Rischa
